Question

Media Clip and wrong audio

I am using Premiere 2018. I originally shot an interview on ACVHD. I transcoded the interview to mp4 files. The clips were all playing fine. I have logged and made subclips out of this lengthy interview. I have not looked at it for about 9 months. However, when I play the interview, it is synching up the audio with a different clip. I tried making it offline and re linking --- no dice. I tried importing the entire clip into a new bin -- same thing. Please help!!

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-clean-delete-or-trash-media-cache-files/td-p/....

If that doesn't work, try resetting the preferences:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/Premiere-Pro/FAQ-How-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-Premiere-Pro/td-p/...

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/workspaces.html

If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.

I did all that. I am on a Mac. I don't know what you mean by graphics
driver.

And why does Premiere have to "generate peak files" .

After emptying the cache at someone's suggestion it is now so slow. I have
8tbs of footage.

You can't update a graphics driver on a Mac.  It's part of the OS.

How does it sync if you playback the clip in let´s say VLC/Windows Film&TV/PotPlayer/QuickTime, etc?

It plays fine in quicktime. It is only in Premiere, and just one interview, out of about 20. The audio playing with his interview is from a a totally different clip. (its b roll from the 1980s.) Wow. I cannot even drag it directly from the finder window into a new bin. It still doesnt' work. 😞
