Question

Media encoder 2022 on Mac M1 Max extremely slow

Hello, i've a serious problem encoding from Premiere pro or After on media encoder. I've the lastest versions of all adobe software and MacOs. From after effect with a no complex scene, a 4 minutes video takes about 1h and a half to export in basic settings 1080p H264. A 3500€ mac should do better no ? My old intel imac export the same video in less than 10 minutes !

Any ideas ?

I've see a lot of peoples with similar problems (glitch and slow render, but no solutions)

Thanks lot

Hi sarahl86206752,

We're sorry to hear about this performance issue. Are you experiencing performance issues with playback or export? Let us know the version of Premiere Pro that you are using, the type of media files you are working with & the effects applied. We're here to help, just need more info.

Thanks,

Sumeet

I'm having the same issues.  It seems that ever since the update over the summer (and subsequent updates) this problem has multiplied.  If you color grade any footage 1080p or higher, your exports are outrageous.  A 17minute 1080 video with some extra color saturation, a title card, and no other effects is taking 3 hours on my M1.  All settings are optimum as well.  This wasn't an issue until the summer of 2022.  I'm not sure what is going on.

Does anyone have an answer?

I am having a sumilar problem exporting a 1 minute video in 1080p with captions. It is going to take almost 40 minutes! Not impressed with Premiere's performance with the M1 Max...

May need to use my 5k Pro iMac to export.

Please check to make sure that the renderer is set for hardware accellerated.
