Media Pending- Can't Relink or Import new

Recently came back to a video editing project that was nearly done, and now all of the clips show as "Media Pending" When I try to relink the original video clip the program freezes. This is super annoying and nothing has changed on my computer so I have no idea what's causing it. I tried re-importing the original avi video clip and Premiere just gets stuck on the "Importing files" window....but it never imports the file. help.
