Question

Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL) does not work.

Specs:

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 5-Core Processor.

AMD Radeon RX 5700XT

2 1TB SSD &500GB SSD.

16GB 3200MHz RAM.

I'm running into an issue in which when selecting "Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL)" it seems my playback seems to stop working and I'm unsure to why this is a problem sometimes, sometimes the video will work and will be there, sometimes Premiere Pro will just not want to work with me and feature the video I have placed in.

I have same problem on Premiere Pro 14.9.

Ryzen 5 3600

RX 5500 XT 8Gb
32Gb 3200 RAM
In Premiere 14.8 all work great.

Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers
Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter
•ATI Driver https://www.amd.com/en/support
There are also intermittent reports that the newest driver is not always the best driver due to driver bugs or compatibility issues, so you MAY need to try an earlier driver version

My drivers are most up to date, and I've done a few restarts and emtpied my cache to see if that worked, also I ran into another issue when I use hardware encoding to render my video yet my GPU stays at around 1-2%
