Mercury Playback Engine Grey Out in 2022 and BETA for iMAC 2020 with AMD GFX card

Hi

2021 and 2020 work fine but the mercury playback engine is greyed out on my late 2020 imac with AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16 GB. I've searched online and just cannot find an answer. I am sure they must be compatible so what could cause it to be unavailable?

Thanks

Philip

Apparently this card is not (yet) supported. You can upvote support via this page:

In the mean time @kev_mon or @Kevin-Monahan do you know of a work around? Dus updating to Monterey solve this?

Thanks Joost,

I am surprised I couldn't find more info on this online. What really makes no sense is that it used to. Whilst in Beta it was fine.

This graphics card is still in the current top spec imac for sale from Apple, when silicone ones come out things will change but mine is barely 18 months old.

I have an m1 max MBP using 2022 and it's great butI cannot use my projects on here on my main edit suite. machine. I am editing on my sofa which is crazy and not what you expect for a monthly subscription based service where they can update software constantly.

Is there some sort of dispute going on here?
