Question

Metadata from clips to carry over into sequences when syncing. Is it possible?

Hi Folks. I've done some research but can't find an answer for this...yet.

I'm working on a doc project and logging footage. Syncing dual system and multicameras using the Create Multi-Camera Source sequence as Adobe suggests in their literature. Working in a Production.

I need to find a way to get metadata added to the source clips, to carry over to the synced sequences. For instance if I log 'Scene' information on the video clips, Premiere dumps this when a synced sequence is made. Ditto keywords, ditto 'Description' column.

Is there any way to fix this? Really trying to avoid loads of repeated data entry. Tedious and susceptible to error, and ideally I'd have the metadata info on both. Really easy in Avid as synced clips are subclips of Masters so share simple metadata by default.

Any thoughts / ideas greatly appreciated. (Premiere Pro 25.2.3)

Is the field disappearing from the project file view? Or is it there, but empty?

The field is there but it is empty. Take 'Scene' for example. It's a standard metadata column in the bin, but it empties when you create the sync sequence from a video file with the scene column filled in.

Wow ... that isn't good behavior. Maybe tomorrow I'll get a minute to test this.
