Question

Missing link when editing PSD layer

hi there.

I have a project with many PSDs inside. When I edit one layer in Photoshop and save (didn't even change the layer name), all footage from that PSD become offline.
There's something I'm missing or it's just the way it works?

thanks

For the most part they update. It may depend on how you import, individual layers vs merged doc, etc. But I was just testing and it seems to work as you would want. But I vaguely remember something about them not updating, I didn't duplicate that just now. I do all my better titles in AE now rather than PS.

ok, thanks. Let me explain it better.
I have a PSD with 5 layers. I import it to Premiere, as individual layers, document size.
The client need to change a picture, so I update the PSD, keeping the number of layers, order and naming.
When I open the project in Premiere, all the layers are offline, and there's no option to Link just a layer ... you can just link a whole file.
Is that a better solution for this, than importing again the whole file, and changing every footage in the timeline?

I don't think it works that way. I just did what you said, I put an image in the PSD. Imported as above. I then layered them all on the timeline. (Could just use a merged PSD unless you want to animate the various layers). Saved. Quit both. Got a different JPG, renamed it as the original one, opened PS and it didn't change, I still have the original image. Deleted the original and dropped in the new (with the same name as the old) and when I opened PP, the links were offline. I remember something along this line.

Here's a thread you can upvote, but it doesn't have much traction.

User Voice is where the Adobe engineers look for bug reports, enhancement requests, etc. The urgency for bug reports or new features can be judged by how many of us users upvote the requests. You can search for similar requests using the search feature at the lower right. It's best to upvote a request that has some traction (votes) already, and you can upvote and reply to that thread. If you don't find one the matches your request, then enter a new one. Regardless, post a link back here so those seeing this thread can upvote also.

Are your versions of Premiere Pro and Photoshop fully updated to the most recent version?

I was 1 update behind, but even after upgrading the issue continues.
