I have several unfinished projects saved on an external hard drive I started on an older Mac MacBook using premier pro cs6 my OS was Yosemite 10 , I tried connecting my external hard drive to a newer MacBook that I have now that also has premier pro cs6, when I try to finish the work I have started on my premier pro projects a window is displayed that says I am missing presets, how can I transfer the presets from my external drive to the newer MacBook , or is there another way to finish my incomplete premiere pro projects?

Premiere does not save most things like presets in the project file, but in a few locations on the system drive of the computer. So ... those presets were on the system drive, not the external. You would need to find where in the Mac OS Premiere puts preset files, and go to the older laptop's main drive to find them.

Thank you so much for your response Neil my old MacBook won’t start anymore, I had years worth of editing on it and I thought saving everything to an external hard drive I would be safe.

I appreciate your advice more than I can express I have been lost trying to figure out what to do. I am still uncertain how to find the presets without access to the old MacBooks main drive, could you please continue giving me advice?

If they were presets you had made, then ... they're gone if that drive wasn't cloned somewhere. You would have to redo something like what you had done.
