Missing transitioning clips in Effect Controls window

Hi, 

I used to be able to move the Effect markers to extend beyond a clip (and into the next one), using the Effect Controls panel. Since a recent update, I can only see one clip and the window doesn't allow me to see the next clip transition, which means I now can't get that smooth effect I liked.

Anybody any tips? 

So far I've tried: changing the workspace layout, moving the size of the Effect Controls window, zooming in (and out). No luck yet.
