MKV Compress size and keep audio channels

Question

I have a MKV file with all audios in different channels. The problem is that it’s too big (40 GB) is it possible to decrease it’s size but keep all audio channels separately?I processed it from MKV to MP4 but on the MP4 file, all audios are fused in 1 channel. Another idea I was thinking is to export it in a file without video and keep all audios in different channels. And then import the MP4 and then import the audios into Premiere.I’m using Premiere v26.3

You can reduce the file size while keeping the audio channels separate by exporting as QuickTime with H.264 and configuring the audio output channels manually.

Select the clip in the Project panel and click Export.
Set Format to QuickTime (.mov), set Codec to H.264, and set Target Bitrate to adjust the quality.
Under Audio, click More to expand the options, scroll down to Audio Channel Configuration, and set the number of Output Channels to match the channels in your media.
