MOD. file problem - Premiere doesn´t import audio

Hello.

I am trying to solve this problem but I can't find a way to do it, hopefully, you can.

I am trying to do an edit with some old videos from a Panasonic SDRH40, all videos in.MOD format.

When I play them on Quicktime or VLC I can hear the audio on the files, but as soon as I import them to Premiere Pro, a window pops up saying "There is been an unexpected error"... the funny thing is that this happens with only some of them, mostly the ones over 3 min. short ones work just fine.

I tried to change the preview file format and comp. linear on sequence settings and also use media encoder to transform those files in different formats with no luck at all.

I am using the latest version of Premiere on Mac.

Can Someone help me with this?

Thanks.

Try transcoding the problem files with Handbrake or Shutter Encoder and then import into Premiere Pro:
