Question

MOGRT Video Replacement not playing

Hey all!

Mogrt lover here - I usually spend my time making lower thirds and titles and such but had a bit of a difference instance this time in creating a YouTube Description scroll which requires a Video Media Replacement option.

Everything runs GREAT - until I replace the vid on premiere.

It's just a still. It won't play anything. It's not the individual video either as I've tried swapping it out with other things.

Any help appreciated!

Hey @srenoldSBL

I know this post is from 2022. But did you ever solve this? It's 2025, and I'm having this problem. I feel like I've done this several times before. So I'm confused why I'm having this issue now. I've read the other comments on this post, and none of that worked for me.

I'm in the same boat, replaced footage does not play back or plays back for about 2 seconds and then freezes regardless of in point.

guess we're all in the same boat. i exported video and uploaded it to youtube without realizing. luckily with the type of graphic i was using it didn't look so bad. having the issue with a current project as well, the clips are just stuck on one frame completely.

What worked for me is just redragging the footage back into the placeholder. Hope that helps someone

So I managed to solve this by creating a pre comp, and leaving all the attributes in the main comp. So in the pre comp, there is only one footage layer, starting at time 00:00:00, with default transform values, and no time remapping.

Did you ever solved this issue @srenoldSBL ?

Thanks, Kristian

Hello, did you ever resolve this issue? I have a morgt file in premiere pro and using the essential graphics tab I have replaced the supplied stock image with my video clip and its not playing back in the timeline, it is just a still image. Would love to know why this isnt clip isnt playing inthe time line and is just displaying as a still?

I found for me I was using too short of a video clip inside a much longer MOGRT so by the time the animation was finished the video clip had ended and then it just used a still frame for the rest of the MOGRT. SO for me it was pure user error.

Please make sure that you are rendering after replacing the video. Press return with the timeline in focus to render the timeline. I hope that this helps.
