Question

Monitor not switching to source monitor when playing back source timeline

Hi,

I'm experiencing something in version 25.2.3 which I think is a bug.

Open a sequence in the source monitor and then click on the spanner and select open 'sequence in timeline'

If you then have another timeline open as well, scrubbing through that will switch back to the program monitor, but then returning to scrub through the source monitor timeline doesnt change the monitor back to source. On previous versions it did.

This makes 'pancake ediing a lot slower.

I'm afraid I dont recall. Yeah both in the same panel group. Having read your reply I'm now wondering whether or not that actually was the behaviour before or if I'm misremembering. Maybe I had them side by side previously.

Hi @daveyp2tm,

Thank you for submitting a bug report. Do you recall what version you could see this switch happening in?

Just to clarify, are both your Source and Program Monitors in the same panel group (one is hidden if the other is selected), and you expect to see a switch between them when you select a different timeline? Or are your Source and Program Monitors side by side and you aren't seeing the Source Monitor update when scrubbing back in this 'source' timeline? A screenshot of your setup could be helpful.

Could opening the 'source' sequence as a normal timeline be a workaround so the Program monitor switches back and forth when clickiong between timeline sequences?

Sorry for the frustration,
Dani
