Question

MOV files from iphone 12 have artifacts and glitching

I shot 1080p 60fps files on iphone 12.

On import into PremPro they were glitching. After research I tried to convert to MP4 using Handbrake but they are still glitching. I've tried several presets, creator 1080 60 modified (59.94) etc, with the 'constant framerate' option checked.

I also read that iphone video files fluctuate frame rate? Does anyone have any alternative fixes? MXF files for example, which handbrake does not convert to. It's very frustrating.

Instead of Handbrake, you can consider using Shutter Encoder: https://www.shutterencoder.com/en/

Why did you shoot in 60fps on the iPhone? Where do you live, in a 29,97 or 25fps country? More fps is only better if you're a gamer or you wish to use it as slow motion, otherwise, just shoot at 24 or 30fps.

Hope this helps.

60 fps allows you to slow down the footage in post.

Thank you I will try.

On your iPhone, you can also run an app like FilmicPro that you can instruct to shoot at a fixed framerate.

Perhas you can try this as well, which means you don't have to transcode any longer.

Files still glitching despite having been converted to MP4 container. Bizarre.

Could you elaborate about "glitching", do you mean stutter or something else?
