Moving from one hard drive to a ssd drive on the same computer

I have Premiere pro 5.5 installed on my C;drive and I am trying to install it onto a ssd drive. I have downloaded PP5.5 onto the ssd drive however when I try to setup the program it wants to install it onto the C;drive. It will not let me select the ssd drive. My research has indicated that PP5.5 will run faster if it is on a ssd drive.

Adobe products must be installed on the same drive as your operating system.  It that's your C (primary) drive, then that's where they will be installed.   You cannot run Adobe software on an external drive.  However, you can keep your work files on externals if that helps.
