Moving the clip deletes the crossfade

Hello, I need help moving the clip without re-doing the crossfade.

Is there a way to prevent this?

Yes, that is normal behavior when moving clip around. It looses the transition.

Don't move the clip but rather use the ripple trim in/out tool

Is it a default transition that can get applied with Ctrl+D? Or did you keyframe it? Maybe a screenshot would help.
