MP4 import not importing video (only audio imported)

I am using Premier Pro 2015.4 and trying to import an MP4 file  that I created with it. It is a large file (5 gig) -- what happens is:

1) A message comes up "Import files(Not Responding)" within the dialogue that appears which shows the time bar indicating how long the import will take

2) The dialogue suddenly disappears and only an audio file (not the video) of the video is left in the project folder.

The have tried deleting my  media cache, rename the folder the  and clip, restarting PrPro and my computer but this is not working.

Any suggestions?

    Hi Martink,

    Have you tried to move the file to a different location or drive & try importing?

    Please let us know the status of the issue.

    Hi Vidya,

    I tried all those things with no luck. I can close this now though. I used a product other than adobe to solve the issue.

    You are trying to import a file that was created with 2015.4?

    Did you realy deleted all media chache or just cleaned. There is a difference.

    I also deleted the media cache with no luck
