Question

MP4 or .MOV / .MTS

Should I use MP4 files in my Premiere Project or use MTS or MOV files

I am wanting to export some MOV files from Lightroom after I have trimmed them

to suit a project. I can only export them as MP4. I am doing several projects at once and want to trim the file to suit the project it is going to be used for.

i.e. one clip shall be trimmed a different way for each project. I shall trim it and then send it to a folder specific for that project

and then do the same thing again for the next project. It seems like the easiest way to sort the footage.

Can anyone advise me as whether or not this is a stupid idea or not.

Thanks from Premiere Pro Rookie !

I would do the work in PP and export out Cineform files.

Cineform is higher quality than MP4 originals.  You won't lose quality.

I recommend a Cineform Quality setting of 3 or 4.  5 is overkill.  If you need small files, you might even be able to get by with 2.
