MPG Video Footage Not Playing

Hey there,

I am very confused and quite a rookie with the file language.  I have a project in Premiere I was working on a couple years ago and reopened it.  The MPG video clips of footage are not working.  It just shows a yellow screen with a bunch of foreign letters.  I spent a TON of time setting up the exact video clips over the sections and really don't want to lose it.  I'm guessing there is some setting that needs fixed?  Have no idea what it is though.  Thanks

Try this:

https://www.premiumbeat.com/blog/fix-media-pending-error-premiere-pro/

Media Pending means the mpg files are getting indexed.

It just shows a yellow screen with a bunch of foreign letters.

That indicates that the footage is offline. Right click on one of the MPG clips in the Project panel and choose Link Media and click on the Locate button to find the file on your hard drive. (You can link multiple clips in one go by selecting multiple clips and choose Link Media and clicking the Locate button.)

Thanks Ann,

Premiere is CC 2018

Is that enough info?  I'm not sure how to get/fine the mediainfo/treeview stuff.

Please post computer specs, OS build,
Premiere build (is it the same one as a couple of years ago or did you update)?
