Multicam changing cameras not putting in the switch on timeline

I have multicam, 2 cameras, and yesterday was editing it fine by playing the video, and just clicking on whichever camera i wanted and it would put a switch point on the timeline.  Today I load same project, and when I do that same thing, it doesn't put a new switch point, instead it changes the camera of the current playback position back to the last switch point.

Based on that screen recording (thank's for posting that, by the way) that is the expected behavior. When you play the timeline and switch cameras do new cuts get made?

Your recording is only showing a paused timeline, so when you switch cameras in the Source monitor, the clip that you have selected should change angles as opposed to make an edit. This is how you correct a mistake or change your mind if you don't like the angle you chose in your first pass.

You're right, I guess I didn't notice that I was always Playing before.

So, it seems the answer is you can only add a camera switch point while Playing the timeline.

If you switch cameras while not playing, the existing section where your timeline marker is will change to that camera.

    Thanks!

Correct, although you could use the Razor tool, make a cut in your timeline, double-click the clip to open it in the Source monitor, and then switch angles.

Alternatively, you could right-click a clip and choose >Multi-Camera>Camera 1 (or Camera 2)

    Hi dataforge,

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please create & import the old project(.prproj) file into the new project & test.

    Thanks,

    Vidya.
