Multicam not switching

Having an issue with multicam ove the last coupleof point releases. Often I will see the existing program monitor sitting behind the multicam screen when I first enter multicam mode. The symptoms are that the sequence then won't switch intermittently. Either when I try and switch live and when I try and switch using control and clickingon the camera to add a cut edit. Sometimes I have to exit PP entirely and restart it to clear the problem. PS - Experienced mcam user and know all the usual gotcha's like ensuring you have the video row selected (in this case V1) and the arrow tool.

I suspect a video card driver issue because of the first symptom - I'm running a GTX 980TI and I've updated the drivers to the latest version to try and alleviate the problem. Is there a particular driver release I should be using?

More info: Using proxies

Edit: I've added a screen schot of the initial error fro clarity

sounds like maybe you should have more real estate (screen size in inches ) so you can see the panels without them getting stacked... ( behind one another ). So, when you adjust that stuff your 'focus' ( panel selected to enable tools there ) is getting lost ???  Even if you V1 selected, it doesn't necessarily mean that panel is selected ( edit timeline panel ? ) ... Beats me. I kinda been doing stuff so long I select stuff half the time without even thinking about it anymore.

    😛

Thanks Rodney but that's not it - I've done this hundreds of times before. It's actually a video error that displays the original program monitor behind the multicam window. It disappears as soon as you start playing.
