Question

Multicam now only shows 1 angle in timeline viewer

Hey all,

So a new quirk I noticed dealing with Multicam clips in 2020. When multicam clips are on the timeline, the multicam viewer will only show 1 angle unless the clips are on track 01. This is kind of a big issue because myself and most of the other editors I know use multiple tracks to pull selects, as well as stacking clips as options while building edits. Am I missing something? Has anyone figured out a work around for this? Or is it just baked in now? If so, can we go back to how it was before? Thank you in advance!

If I understand you correctly, you need to have the track that has your multicamera clip on it highlighted in the record side of the track patch panel.   It took me a while to figure out why the multicamera stopped working for me (and unfortunately I had a client sitting next to me).

I havent updated to .02 yet, I'm still on 14.01 and it does do as you say, however I don't remember it otherwise. When wanting to stack clips, I switch to the camera I want on track 1 and alt-drag up to drop it on another track, do likewise if there is another camera I wanted and then switch back to the camera I originally had for the track 1 clip and carry on.

For sure I've done this before too with stacked clips. Kinda kills the whole purpose of multicam though, haha. If it's the only solution, it is what it is, just hoping there's a workaround or that they'll fix it.
