Question

Multiple Audio Tracks Echo After Using Synchronization Tool

I'm not sure if this is just a 24.0 issue but I often shoot interviews and podcasts. Lately when I'm synching the audio from each speaker (usually two speakers max) and all of the camera angles, one of the audio tracks will be ahead or behind the other causing an echo. I know you can manually fix this by showing the audio time units but this adds so much time to my editing process as you have to continually keep moving the tracks to be lined up correctly. Is there something in the settings that can bypass spending extra time editing something that should be simple?

Hopefully I've explained this in a way that makes sense!

Hi @screamhbomb,

Thanks for writing in with your question. You are wondering why certain sources have audio drift. It is usually because of the recordings. Which cameras are recording these streams? Are they pro-level cameras or more like consumer devices? That may hold the key, I think. We need more info to help you, especially related to the media format. If you have the free app "Media Info" that can help determine which of these sources has settings that are not aligned with others. Transcoding that media to a common format, like an editing codec, can help you with managing sync, as well. Let us know more so we can help you.

Take Care,

Kevin
