Multiple clips on timeline and at some point there was only one?

Double-check that you can see all of your Video Tracks in the Timeline panel.  If the panel has been scrolled to higher tracks, it's possible to only see clips in, for example, Video Track 2 and 3 while the rest of the clips are in Video Track 1.

Double-check that you are zoomed all the way out of your Sequence such Premiere Pro is showing you all the Sequence contents from left to right.  A quick way to do this is press backslash ("\") for Zoom to Sequence.  It's a toggle, so if pressed again is goes back to the prior Sequence Zoom level.

It sounds like you accidentally did a Lift, Extract, or Delete of all but one clip in your Timeline.

If you get to a point where what you see in the Timeline is not what you expected, you can use Edit > Undo (command/control z) until the Timeline looks like what you are expecting.  If while using Edit > Undo you go one step too far back, you can use Edit > Redo (command/control shfit z) to step forward one action.  You can also review your actions by going to the History panel (Window > History).  This shows step by step what you've been doing.

As far as the Clipboard goes, it sounds like you are describing the media shown in your Project panel as being a "Clipboard".  That's not the Clipboard.  Like any application, the Clipboard is a temporary storage area of what's been copied or cut so it can be pasted elsewhere.  For example, we can select one or more Clip Boundaries in a Timeline, cut them, and then paste them to a different location in the Timeline.  Another example is that we can copy a Clip's attributes and paste those to other clips.  Whatever is copied or cut most recently is what's on the Clipboard and it's not something we can view like we can view a Project panel, Bin panel, or Sequence panel.

Welcome to the community! Please check if you are accidentally zoomed in on the timeline. This may cause only a part of the timeline to be visible. Try pressing the minus (–) key to zoom out and see if it reveals the other clips in the timeline.
