Multiplexing Issue

Hello All,

I have been trying to export a 4k video from Premire Pro to an MP4 file for a while and it does not seem to work. Premire Pro seems to get stuck on 100% and in the export location it has 4 files.   Which are :

.tmp

.aac

.m4v

.mp4

For some reason after 100%, it does not result in one file. If i were to close Premire pro/cancelling the process. The files remain there however, all of them are corrupt and does not work. I am exporting to an external 4TB SSD harddrive and my cache files are on an external harddrive too. The file size is approximately 17-18GB.

If there are any solutions i would be very grateful !

- Latest Version of PP 25.1

PC Specs

i7 4790k

16GB RAM

2TB SSD Harddrive

Any export settings recommedation would be helpful too

Give processing a few extra minutes to combine the files, @ashishm52385143.

Cheers,

Much appreciated for the response ! This worked, I had to wait an extra hour to for it to multiplex. I am fine with the waiting is there anyway to get a progress bar for the multiplexing side of things ? Or is that in the works ?

This normally happens pretty fast. Which would indicate that there's something about your setup slowing that last process. Such as not enough space on that disc, or too small an open area for cache files.

Premiere takes at a minimum 4-5 times free space on the export drive compared to the final expected file size.  To work efficiently.

And having a lot of cache space on say an Nvme drive all devoted to cache can help some processing steps also.

I presume you have a lot of free space on that drive. As Premiere needs 4-5 times the final file size in free space to complete an export.

Yup i have  alot of free space on the drive ! Plenty for all the cache files. What worked with me was just being patient with it as mentioned in the pinned post. Much appreciated the response !

Try exporting through Adobe Media Encoder.

Hey Peru, yeah i tried Adobe Media Encoder too but that too gets stuck on 100%. What worked for me was literally just being patient with it. The Multiplexing took me nearly an 1 hour extra, which is longer than the encoding time surprisingly. Not too sure why there isn't a bar for it but hey it is what it is.
