MXF file time error

HI,

i'm working on last premiere version, and i've read about problems about mxf files in past versions: in my case, i'm trying to edit a CANON XF 205 and 250 footage:

I can see video, i can hear audio (4 tracks), but i can not edit anything because the single clips, 5m25s each one, is read, in premiere, as more than 2 hours or less EACH ONE....

Obviously i've checked timecode, preferences and settings: the footage clips are 5m25s, 25.00p, 1920x1080, and the total amount of video clip (30 clips) of the concert (subject) shuold be, in total, 1h30m.

I worked using 2 canon xf, 2 canon eos 80d, 2 gopro hero 5: the 6 cameras are all 1h30m in total, and in vlc player also the mxf files give this result: but when i import in premiere pro, the mxf from canon result 1h21m EACH ONE: this means that i can not edit (the mxf timeline generated is about 22 hours!!!!!) and, obviously, i can not export in any format (the files in compression are some TB each one)...

I'm really upset. this should be a simple work for me, and i can not do anything.

can you suggest or help me?

Best regards

Thanks

Canon xf files should import without an issue.

Make sure the entire card (CONTENTS) is copied to hdd first, ingest via Media Browser.

As Kevin writes, use the Media Browser and make sure that you copied the full folder structure from the card from the XF205 camera. What you see is spanned clips and if you rename folders or use Canon XF Utility to just extract the files to one folder you get problems like this.

Solution 1:

Don´t rename the folders created by the camera and use Media Browser to import.

Solution 2:

If you use the Canon XF Utility to export MXF files, make sure to use Merge Each Clip or Merge All Clips.

NETLORDS,

If you did not already do so, please try ingesting this footage via the Media Browser. If that still does not work, try a test to ingest and transcode via Media Browser to an editing codec like ProRes on a few clips to see if that might work better.

Those are the first the things I would try.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi and thanks.

Tried: if i import by media browser the 05m files is read as 31m (not 1h20m): trying to "convert" in media encoder, the problem is always the same: the files results 1h19m, and can be converted in any format, with any codec, but always 1h19m...

I don't understand.
