Question

MXF files show 0 bytes after Premiere Crash

This is an odd one but after a premiere pro crash, my footage MXF files now show 0 bytes. Obviously, the footage can't be read by premiere now and I've run a few restore programs on the drive but they find nothing. It's almost like Premiere ripped out the guts of the files and replaced it with nothing. Has anyone encountered this before or have a solution?

Hi, Premiere Pro did the SAME to me. My original files now show ZERO bites! Did you ever get this issue solved? Please let me know.

Hi John267748390q21!

Sorry to hear that. Do you have crash logs? https://adobe.ly/40QTtvE

Let us know.

Thanks,

How did your Premiere crash happen ?

The only way Premiere could mess with your MXF file would be if you misadvertantly tried to export a sequence to mfx, using the exact same name as your footage. But then Premiere would have warned you that you where about to overwrite a file needed for rendering.

Could it be your HDD failing?

Attempted but unfortunately didn't work.

OK.

Do the files play outside of Premiere Pro?
