MXF "Unsupported format or damaged file" on import

I have imported MXF files into Premiere to see exactly what the error message is and it states

"Unsupported format or damaged file"

Can anyone advise me on converting the files if this is what needs to be done, maybe to H.264 or whatever it needs

Thanks

My files were not corrupted or damaged, premiere just had a issue with ingesting alot of files. Restarted my computer and it worked.

I'm also having this issue. I can re-locate the MXF files with and it works with extremely slow performance (1 frame every 30 seconds) but every time I load the project it says it's damaged or unsupported. If I start a new project the will not import. I'm using v24.4.1.

The best way to fix this if the problem was caused at the time of recording (e.g. improper power shut down), is to put the media back in the camera it was recorded in and let the camera "update media".

My example was with Sony FS7 with XQD card, 25GB of data in one file.  Error created this error when the camera power was accidentaly cut.  No software fix or renaming of the file would work.  Also no other camera would work, it had to be the same camera with the same settings at the time of recording.

Echo what Ann suggested. Always copy the entire card and do not make any modifications to any of the folders or files. If you are still having issues, please provide us more information about the file like a screenshot from MediaInfo showing all the video and audio information.

Ok have moved over files to the HDD, imported through Premiere rather than dragging onto l warning with a red triangle in the RHS bottom corner - message "A low-level exception occurred in: Importer MXF (Importer:37).

Then tried your advice re ingesting thru Media Browser.  So on ticking the ingest option, I could only open 'Program Files' rather than documents, so I kept the ingest box ticket and did the usual File Explorer import.  Is it right that this has now activated Media Encoder and it is going to convert/fix issues in the background?  Haven't used Encoder before so don't know if this is right?

MXF is supported.

Make sure you copy entire card to hdd first then ingest via Media Browser.
