Question

MXF video files not playing back properly

When I bring Panasonic Varicam MXF footage into Premiere, I can not play the footage correctly as it distorts during playback - giving it a warpy super-zoomed in look. When I pause the footage, I can see the frame properly. And when I export it doesn't have the issue. I just can not edit when I can not watch the footage in playback correctly. The last version of Premiere that works with the footage properly is 22.3.1

I've attached a screen video of the error. MXF video file error

Thanks for any help and advice in advance

I have the exact same issue.  I noticed that when I make low-res Quicktime proxies of the footage and toggle proxies on the zoomed-in distortion goes away. Unfortunately, I do not have time to create proxies for all the footage in my current project because I am up against a tight deadline.  I upgraded to the newest version of Premiere but that did not fix it.  Finally, I changed the render (Project Settings > General) from Metal to Software Only and that seems to have fixed the problem.

Hi MyerPj. Thanks for responding. The mov is just a screen capture of what Premiere is doing when I try playing the MXF file and scrubbing through the timeline. I can provide an MXF file if that helps. Thanks again.

Sequence size, clip size, scaling, etc... I downloaded your file, only to see that it is a .mov, I was I guess, expecting an mxf file that doesn't play right. Give some details
