My audio files are imported with markers for some reason!

Whenever I try to import the same mp3 file into a project, it has markers already placed on it!

This is very frustrating as I want to place different markers from before, and this problem continues even after deleting all my projects 😞 . Please can someone help me?

The reason the markers are present in the clip on import is beacuse by default, Preferences > Media > Write clip markers to XMP is enabled. Uncheck this if you do not want markers to "write" to your clips metadata and appear each time you import the clip.

To start fresh, keep the Preference enabled, import the MP3, then go to Markers menu and choose Clear All Markers. Now uncheck the Pref and when you import the clip again, there won't be any markers.

Hope this helps.

and mp3's are heavily compressed audio files that are not always ideal to work with.  Might be smart to convert to aiff or wav files using adobe media encoder and convert them to a sampling rate that matches your intended sequence settings.  Most standard video formats are 48k sampling.  Usually premiere will deal with 44.1 k sampling without issues (but not always) but 32k sampling and lower can cause issues that may not always appear immediately.
