Hi

I have a sequence which contains a video with sound and a music file which I am going to play on top when the video is quiet.

For some reason the music doesn't;t play when the video is there. If I delete the video layer the music plays, sound great!, but when I add the video tot he sequence the music doesn't play whilst the video does play sounds.

HELP!

You will have to render you timeline first.

Most likely you machine cannot handle nests and remix at the same time.

    Thanks

Maybe you’re right. It’s weird as I've done these loads of times like this but for some reason it doesn't work on this one.

I’ve got it to work by adding the music the nested video, basically combining everything into one. It’s a bit messy especially when I have other ones to do, but at least it works.

    Thanks for helping.

Please post screenshots of your sequences.

    Here are the 2 screenshots.

The first one shows the main sequence with the video on the layer the music file below.

The second one shows the video sequence.

The issue is likely that your sequence was created using a preset from the Broadcast folder. These presets split each audio track into separate channels for broadcast delivery, rather than mixing everything down to a stereo output. You can confirm this by checking your Audio Meters, which will show 4 channels instead of 2.

    To fix this:

    1. Create a new sequence using a preset outside the Broadcast folder.
    2. In the Tracks tab of the New Sequence dialog, make sure Audio Mix is set to Stereo.
    3. Copy and paste your nested sequence and remixed audio into the new sequence.

Do you have the audio tracks stacked. For example the audio from the nested sequence in A1 and the other audio in A2?

OK I having looked into this some more, I thinking I am talking about NESTED SEQUENCES.

The nested sequence is overriding the sound, so the sound the new sequence is no working.

    Still not solved it.
