Need Help - Optical Flow Distorting the Image

Hi everyone,

I'm currently making an action style commercial for a client who wants to see a new cut with more slow motion in it.  I saw a tutorial showing how to use Optical Flow to get a nice smooth slow motion, which worked very well....except that it distorts the image, making it all warped and weird looking.  I've attached some pictures to show what it looks like.  We shot on a Canon 5D in 30fps.

Anyone know how I can fix this?  Or if this is a random problem on my own side, is there any other way to make smooth slow motion in post production?

Thanks for any advice,

It happens sometimes.

The only sure-fire slow-motion option is overcranking.

Whats the workaround? Less slow motion or how is that prevented?

Overcranking.  Shoot it at a higher frame rate than the project frame rate.  When you play it back at the project frame rate, you'll get perfect sow motion on every shot.
