Need Help With Relinking Issue

My OS hard drive crashed while working on a project; I have everything backed up, so not a huge deal in terms of actual content lost. I transferred to another computer and have had a hell of a time getting everything relinked, mainly because I suck at remembering to rename files with duplicate names, so Premiere automatically thought all the files were different ones already on the 2nd computer. For some reason, the timing on one of the clips (perhaps more; I’m still working through the project) is off. This isn’t the case for most of the relinked ones (so far). Does anyone know 1) why this happened, but more importantly, 2) how to fix it?

Not sure what's happening here, but when you get to the relink dialog, you should see what the path was to the crashed drive...  The easiest way to work is to recreate the drive name and path on your backup drive and then (theoretically) Premiere will relink automatically.  Gotta say it works fine most of the time...  but not always.  The thing that should happen is once you point to one file, if the path structure matches the previous drive, everything else should (hopefully) relink properly.  I'm guessing that you may need to go back to your saved project file before you attempted the relink to get things working again.  If you don't have a save of the project before you attempted to relink, you might want to work with an autosave version.   I'm a past master at this sort of thing, having to deal with complicated projects in fcp7 which would lose the connection with much of the media after a crash...

Is it possible that you have two clips with the same name?

So when I had moved everything over, Premiere linked to a different clip with the same name. I relinked it to the correct clip, but the timing is off
