Need tips to figure out why switching from headphones to my monitor's audio isn't working?

Hello! I'm having trouble figuring out the correct settings or preferences in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017 to be able to listen to the audio in my editing project switching between headphones and the computer monitor audio automatically. I thought perhaps it was something in my preferences on my personal computer but when I use the headphone connection for any other audio sources or video sources the computer automatically switches to the source. So I know its a setting in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017 that I need to fix.

Does anyone have any advice on the PP CC's preferences to switch from headphones when I need to hear it through them and then listening on my computer monitor speakers? Do I have to continuously go into preferences multiple times and switch back and forth or is there a setting that will automatically go between both? Thanks in advance!

Normally you'd just plug the headphones into the headphone jack on the monitors.  Where are you putting it?

    Jim,

Thank you! The headphone jack on my monitors was not visible and that worked! I had been plugging it into my desktop tower that I have at work that has a headphone jack as well, and that one was visible right in front, the monitor headphone jack was way up in the back next to the VGA cables and is placed up against a desk wall that has low shelving above it, so I had to pull the monitors out of their area to look for it, so I totally missed that, thank you so much for pointing this out! It is strange to me that the tower headphone jack works just fine automatically with all programs on the computer except then on Adobe Premiere Pro, which leads me to wonder what the actual original issue was in connecting it there?

Anyway thank you so much again Jim!! This solved my problem! Easy solution lol I just needed to look a little closer, awesome!

Glad you got it working, but...I mean the headphone jack in your speakers.  What you use to monitor audio.

    Hello!

I have a Asus Cooler Master Tower and the OS is Windows 10 Pro.

I currently can hear the audio in the monitors, but in order to plug in my headphones and hear the audio through the headphones I have to go into the settings into Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017 and manually switch it each time back and forth. Which is fine, but was wondering if there was a quicker and more automatic solution because it seems odd that I have to manually go into the preferences. Whereas my computer itself, if I watch a video on the computer (from the internet or saved on my computer) or listen to audio it automatically switches to headphone audio without me doing anything but plugging it in. So I know there is a setting in Adobe PPro that either I'm missing, but I can't seem to find anything that will be able to automatically detect it.
