New M2 - Slow at toggling through footage in Premiere Pro

Hey everyone,

I just bought a brand new M2 with max memory 96GB and 2TB of storage (I only used 800GB of storage thus far) and I'm an editor.

Usually I would have to proxy all my footage to be able to scrub through but I still find scrubbing through footage lags a bit without proxies. It's pretty frustrating because I would think purchasing a new machine would make my life easier - any tips woud be greatly appreciated.

The media you're using is normally a major consideration in this. Framerate/framesize at what fps, what codec, created by what. What effects may be in use. How big the project is can at times be a concern, if it's a huge project.
