New Object Masks and ME

Is it true that Media Encoder cannot yet render object masks created with the v26 AI-driven upgrade? I am following ALL of the YouTube tutorials and not one of them has mentioned that Media Encoder cannot touch this yet. I'm skeptical. Are only direct exports from Premiere possible when Object Masks are in the project?

Hey, how’s it going? This is happening to me as well. I also started a discussion here in the community. The fix is pretty simple: take all the parts where you used masks, turn them into a nest, and send that to the encoder.

Hope this helps!

@31365241 @MeKevinB,

I have not focused on the new mask techniques. I see mention of the "offline" warning in the Beta, and nesting was a workaround.

I have examples of "no warning" export to AME (using the Object mask and Pen mask tools), adding the mask to opacity. But I now have examples of getting the warning. If the warning is there, I simply get a black screen with audio. The "import natively" preference in AME makes no difference.

Since I don't know enough about the masking, I'll leave it at that.

@MeKevinB<

ME exports an animated opacity mask just fine.

I don't see mention of it in the helpx page, but it says nothing about export. I can't imagine it would not work the same.

ME is giving a warning that object masks are offline and will be ignored. Nothing in Premiere is telling me these masks are offline or otherwise cannot be rendered.
