New Premiere Pro 2026 DELETED all my keystroke presets and workspace presets. Awful. What a waste of time. You're supposed to help with production NOT waste our time forcing us to reset everything again.

I’ve never had this happen through versions from CS6 on to the current 2026 and 2026 public beta. The updating process always includes the option (default to on) to bring up the preferences etc. But for this to work, it matters where your data is stored and if a file-syncing app has ‘control’ over the folders.

So the obvious question ... is do you have them in a different than ‘standard’ location, or does OneDrive, Google, WeTransfer, or Dropbox have rights over the folder tree?

If your preferences and presets get ‘lost’ it’s nearly always due to where or how you have them saved on your machine. Especially if they are not in a folder that the CC 'system’ uses for this, or if the folder you store them in has any file-sync app monitoring (essentially controlling) that folder tree ... the Adobe CC system may not see them as ‘correct’ files or even have permission to copy them.

I had a situation occur with OneDrive a couple years ago where Premiere couldn’t save my prefs. When I realized that was because it couldn’t get permission to write to the folder, I tried several different methods to tell the system that Adobe had permission. None worked. I had no prefs, no LUTs, no presets, no keyboard shorts, no custom workspaces ... nothing.

It took three days to completely nuke OneDrive from my system and get back to work.

    Everyone's mileage always varies ...

Every new version of Premiere does this, and has done for YEARS. It is beyond infuriating. But just so long as we keep getting those new AI slop tools, that’ll make up for the lack of basic functionality - right?

Adobe has been taking their customers for granted for years now and would rather squeeze us out of business than build a solid foundation to keep its own business healthy for many decades to come.

Adobe sees its core customers as a problem that can be solved with AI.

@RogerOverall this is the Photoshop forum, you’d be better off posting on the Adobe Premiere forum instead

Ah, very good point, indeed. Not sure why I and my post ended up here. Thank you for pointing it out.

I also found the solution here, although I had to go back two versions to find a working file:
