Latest Premiere Pro is not importing AVCHD spanned clips properly.  I opened the project that was started on another system and all the media and timelines were there.  When I went to link them (and later do a standard import of them) it won't bring in the spanned clips and so I can't get the media clips to appear in my timeline.

Hi, I have Mac, Sierra, and also have the same problem, real problem to import and when it does audio is not in sync!!!

Same files work just fine in PP 2017!

I'm on a mid 2015 MacBook Pro running macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 and continue to work on an older project shot with AVCHD files and have done test with a new project without problems. I have colleagues working on 2017 iMac with macOS High Sierra test shooting with a Sony FS5 / AVCHD without problems.

I'm preparing for a multi-camera project that will produce 75+ hours of footage and trying to determine any potential problems.

Yes it's the same for me. I previously edited a piece with AVCHD media and now after upgrading to the latest version

I cannot access the project or load the media. I am loathed to go back because since then I have and am editing other projects with no problem just not AVCHD.

I have deleted old A52Codec.components as suggested, making no difference to anything. It would be good to know before I re-create the whole thing again to make one simple change. Is there a fix?

Chatted with Adobe Customer Support and have been told that AVCHD files are a problem for PC while Mac has no problems.

I'm Mac, what platform are you or others that have problems using?

    PPro certainly imports AVCHD files.

How are you attempting to import them?

Did these same files import correctly into previous versions of PPro?

    Thanks for responding.

I import the files through the Media Browser but i have also tried file import and dragging files into the browser.

This is how I have always imported the files and they have always worked in previous PPro versions.

I have also uninstalled the update and reinstalled it again but still experiencing the same problem.

I have also opened up a previous project created in previous version of PPro in the new version and the files in the sequence and media browser are not recognised anymore.

The files play perfectly in Quicktime on my Mac.

I am working on an iMac desktop on OSX version 10.11.6

Here is a screenshot of what the AVCHD files/alerts look like in the new PPro version.

Exact same issue for me. Please fix this!

Premiere Pro CC 2017 previews and imports AVCHD files just fine from an SD card master, while Premiere Pro CC 2018 is stuck 'processing' when trying to import.
