New Premiere Pro Shortkeys

Hi Everyone!

I just installed the new Adobe 2017 update and I found myself with a problem quite bothering...

It seems that the new Adobe Premiere Pro update has changed some shortkeys (for instance the selection tool isn't V anymore but R). No big deal in the end you'll say because I can always change the shortkeys as I want.

BUT

It seems that some other shortkeys that I use quite a lot (for example the % key to toggle a panel to fullscreen isn't reassigned) and I started to wonder if that was something effective on other shortkeys I might been used to? Moreover, the keyboard showed on the shorkeys panel is a Mac keyboard but I work on a PC (so with a PC keyboard obviously) can this be a part of the problem? Can it be set to PC keyboard? And is there any explanation to get the old shortkeys from Premiere Pro 2015.3 (I've always been using the default shortkeys so I haven't got any presets) ?

I checked out the Adobe post on the new features from CC 2017 and it seems they didn't changed any shortkeys, so I don't understand why mine has been changed?

Any Ideas?

Thanks!

Thx I just send in a report! Hope there will be a fix to this! It really got me slowed down in my work...

FIXED

For anyone having the same problem as I had there is my solution.

FYI this is my setup : Windows 10 / Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017

Go to : C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017\Keyboard Shortcuts

You will find several folders for each language.

What I did was to copy the "Adobe Premiere Pro Default.kys" file from the "en_US" folder and paste it in my "fr_FR" folder (replacing the one already existing.)

Starting Premiere Pro again, all my shortcuts came back as normal!

Thank you Averdahl for the time you take to help me!

I hope this helps if you got the same problem!

The shortcuts haven't changed here.

OK so I've tried with differents setups and it seems that this is only affecting Windows users... The apple computers here are totally fine with the shortcuts but the windows all have this new keyboard changed default setup!

So again, why is that? And how to get back to the REAL default Premiere Shortcuts? (BTW this only concerns Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop for instance didn't changed any shortcuts...)

I am using Windows and it has not changed here. I would go for a un-installation including deleting the Preferences, and then re-installing Premiere Pro CC2017 to see if that solves the problem for you.

I am using Windows Pro 10 English version, English version of Premiere Pro CC2017, Swedish keyboard and input laguage. So it can be a language issue, iow French version of Windows, French version of Premiere Pro and a AZERTY-keyboard layot instead of QWERTY-layout on your physical keyboard. It may be a long shot, it may be not.

I remeber for a couple of years ago some bugs that only happened if i used a Swedish version of Windows. So it may sound wierd, but can be even wierder in real life.

Go to Feature Request/Bug Report Form  and file a bug report and add the language of Windows/Premiere Pro and keyboard.

I know I'm not answering your question but do you know what happened to the SHIFT + 1, 2, 3, 4 shortcut keys to switch between panels?

Well it seems that the shortcuts I'm looking for are basically the same since CS6, so I switched to that preset and everything looks like back to normal!

But I am really curious about knowing this happens? Any Adobe Staff that would have an idea?

The keyboard layout i see is neither a Mac nor a PC keyboard. (No Command key, no Win key.)

For me the default shortcut to the Selection Tool was V. Go to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts and make sure that the Keyboard Layout Preset is set to Adobe Premiere Pro Default.

It already is set on "Default"! That is the problem I am refering to!

here is a screen of my keyboard shortcuts (set in French but as you can see the selection tool / outil de sélection is set for R and not V)

I actually don't understand why this happens, because I always've been on the default setting for the shortkeys!

Then i have no idea what the problem can be. Hopefully someone with a French installation of Premiere Pro can assist you.

Or, double click on R in the lower left in the window and re-assign the key to V.
