Hello there, Can someone help me with choppy and slow performane preview and editing footages from kinda newest camera Nikon Z50 II? Is there some kind of problem with support of footage from this camera? or why is that?

I am alo using Capcut where is no problem at all! Eeverything is smooth and easy to work with. So why Premiere has problem with materiel from this camera?

Thanks is dvance, Alan.

The Z50ii shoots 1080p and 4K video at 8 bit and 10 bit. In my experience with shooting 8 bit with the Nikon Z6ii, Premiere was able to handle the footage well. If I had to guess, you might have your Z50ii set to 4K 10 bit video. Best to provide your footage specs so we can diagnose the best course of action.

Being as most of us don't have any particular camera, and NLE performance is so often heavily dependent on the media ... format/codec/framesize/framerate and what produced it .... the options used in-cam even ... including that data is a must for getting intelligent replies.

Use Adobe Media Encoder or Shutter Encoder (free) to convert the footage to ProRes 422 or DNxHD.. These are much easier for Premiere to handle during editing.

Hey Alan,

I'm sorry to hear that. Could you share your source file properties here (Codec, Frame size, Frame rate.) Please also share your system specifications. If you mark in and out points and go to Sequence > Render In to Out, does the preview get better?

Thanks,

Ishan
