No audibly audio Export with Premiere Pro CS6

I cannot Export audible audio to an mp4 video file using Premiere Pro CS6.  The audio is audible in the project but on Exporting to an mp4 file, no audio is heard in a player unless what appears to be a muted state is unmuted by the player volume control.  I have created Exported avi files with audio in the past with no problems being careful to enable audio whereever possible.  For some reason, this is not working when I double click on the mp4 file.

 

 Why is the Export muting the audio instead of playing with the video without using the volume control ?

This sounds like a media player issue.

 

Try some other apps for playing the exported MP4 file like VLC Player, Apple QuickTime Player, and Adobe Bridge.

I am using VLC Player and will try Apple Quicktime and Adobe Bridge.  Failing that, I will try exporting to AVI, used in previous exports.  Hopefully this has nothing to do with my attempt to upgrade the quality of my exports.

Have you tried another player?

If you import the exported file into Premiere Pro, does it play OK on the timeline?

Importing the exported file into Premiere Pro plays OK with the same Bose sound system I have been using for everal years.  I am totally mystified why this is happening, unless it has something to do with an mp4 file or my audio settings prior to export.selections.  It is as though something is muting the audio export.
