No Audio in Premiere (or any CC Product)

I have no audio with Adobe CC 2020 at all!!

running a mac pro with 10.13.6

System audio is fine, playing video clips in quicktime is fine, as soon as i try to play anything  in prem 2020 timeline there is silence. The audio waveform is there, and the VU meteres are showing audio present.

Nothing is muted or in solo

All audio routing is set correctly,

Nothing is turned down.

As i mentioned in the title it happens in audition too with the same clip. System audio remains un affected.

Have you tried setting the audio input to 'none'?

Select the correct Default Output in Premiere Pro Preferences / Audio Hardware. In Audition you can do the same.

This has worked, changing the audio input has directly aeffected the output.

This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, i think adobe need to look into this,

Thanks for pointing this one out, i would never have thought of it otherwise!

Does the inbuilt 'bars and tone' play correctly?

nope, absolute silence, done a complete re install and that has not fixed it either.
