Question

No audio playback for some clips

I have a project that all of a sudden has lost the ability to playback audio for certain clips. The audio is present on the files, a waveform can be seen in the editor, the tracks are all enabled and unmuted - the audio played wihout any issues until this morning when it decided it can no longer do the job. Interestingly, these are all audio tracks from MPEG files - there is another audio track (a WAV file) that still plays without a problem.

Can anyone help me resolve this?

My best guess would be a media cache issue. Probably needs to be deleted to regenerate the Audio Conform files. Quit Premiere and try deleting the folders here:

    Mac: /Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common

    PC: \Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common

For more info on the Media Cache, I'd read this!

Do the clips play audio in the Source Monitor?  In the bin?  In a new sequence?  In a new project?
