No audio when importing multiple video files into Premier Pro

After a recent update to Premier Pro when importing video files with audio the first file imports fine, but any subsequent file only imports the video portion. I have to completely close Premier Pro, reopen it, reopen the project then import the video file with audio. Some of my projects contain several different video files with audio and I have to do this process for each one. Please investigate.

In your screen recording, you have the V1 Patch enabled but not the A1 Patch. Enable the A1 Patch (it should be blue) and try again.

The Patch options are the left most column of the Timeline.

Ok people keep talking about enableing A1 patch, and if it's not a bug, how come I haven't had to do this over the last 6 months? This just started recently. If drag and drop is supposed to work and it doesn't it's a bug.

If the patch setting is being ignored when doing an insert or overwrite from the Source panel, it certainly could be a bug.

Another reason audio may not show up as expected is if the audio track in a video clip is not supported; however, there's usually an error message upon import.

Here's a video capture of what I'm seeing. Some of the context menus and drags don't show in the capture as I was in a hurry. You should get the idea. The section were the screen goes black for a few seconds is when I restarted Premier Pro.

Drag and drop from Explorer is know to give 'issues'.

Best is to use import option or Media Browser.

But do you have an audio track Source target selected? Showing as blue, at the far left of the header control block.

Either way. There are audio tracks available and this has never been an issue before.

The reason for Ann's question is simple. If it's when adding clips to a timeline, the issue is simply you don't have an audio track marked on the far left Source target track controls.

You'll see a blue block for probably V1 but no blue blocks on any audio track. So Premiere thinks you're telling it not to add audio tracks.
