No audio with imported MKV

Hi.

I was pleased to see the most recent Premiere update allows finally for MKV support. However, the MKV I have imported does not have any audio with it despite the original doing so.

Is this just a bug with the new MKV support or is there something I can do to rectify this?

    Thanks for the replies. Sorry for not clarifying what the audio type is (was like 2 am or something when I posted the question lol).

    I was using a ripped mkv from a Blu Ray  so there are multiple audio streams (none are recognised by Premiere). I'm not sure if that's to do with the confusion or not? For now I just used another piece of software to convert the mkv into a pure audio file, then resynced it in Premiere. But in future it would be nice to have an easier route.

    The good news is the mkv video worked.

    Was the audio file that worked for you a .wav/pcm?

    Curious: What were the audio types that did not work?

    You should first clean the cache folders, according to reference:

    If the problem persists it is very possible that the audio codec inside the container, MKV, is not supported by the program.

    Appears to  have been added in 12.1.0. And still not listed or documented that I can see.

    My comment in the first thread (I discovered this in 2018.1.1) was:

    2018.1.1 and I imported an mkv sample from another thread, and then tested the one other mkv sample I had handy:

    Imported without problem. AAC audio no problem; Vorbis for another and did not import the audio. I don't see any announcement about changes. Did I miss something?

    So what format is the audio in the MKV file? As you'll read many times in these forums (usually about avi and mov), it's a wrapper; what's in it!
