No more "Pro?"

Will the forum get a name change too?

Like the others have said, it's simply a "branding" issue and change. People gotta redo brands every so often it seems. Ah ... well.

Yes, they dropped “Pro” from the name, but this shouldn’t be of any concern. It’s the same application.

I remember when they added “Pro” to the name. It was around the year 2000. Up to that point, Premiere was sort of perceived as a consumer editor mostly used for making tiny postage-stamp sized QuickTime videos, not something you would use for broadcast. But they had decided to grow Premiere into a truly professional video editor, and apparently they thought adding the name “Pro” would help change perceptions. 

A quarter of a century later it’s pretty clear that Premiere is a pro video editor. But now they came out with a mobile app that they want to call Premiere too. I think it might be like what they did with Lightroom, where the desktop and mobile apps that are compatible with each other all share the same, simple Lightroom name. Now the desktop and mobile video editing apps are unified under the Premiere name. 

Was "Pro" dropped from "Premiere Pro" in this latest update? 🙂
