Question

No version of Premiere working

I tried to open my version of Premiere CS6 this morning.  The initialization started and went for about 30 seconds before a dialog box opened saying Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 has stopped working.  There was no error code, just this message and a 'Close Program' button.  Of course, this is concerning because it was working fine just two days ago.  So I tried Premiere CC 2015 (yeah I hadn't updated that in a while, I got it as part of a school package but only really use CS6).  Also a no go.  Same thing, initialization then stopped working message.  So I was like, ok, I'll update that and try the trial version of CC 2017. Still nope.  Still same message.  I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling, as well as restarting my computer.

The only thing that's changed recently is there was an updated for Windows 10 which I downloaded.

My graphics drivers are up-to-date (and I have nVidia GeForce not AMD, many solutions online were for people with AMD)

As far as I can tell I don't have any programs blacklisted on my antivirus

I've tried running as Administrator

I've tried setting graphics card for the program from default to nVidia High Performance.

I'm at a loss here, guys.  Is there anyone else having this problem after installing the latest Windows 10 update?  It could even be unrelated.  Any suggestions?

Hi! I have a problem similar to this. When I open adobe premiere, it says " uninstall program and reinstall program" and it crashes after and now my mouse doesn't respond like it used to.

hey kglad,

Thank you for trying to help me!  Unfortunately that didn't work, either.  I deleted all preference files for all versions of premiere and still get the same error message.

I'm glad someone else found it helpful though!

Did you checked for graphics card driver latest update version from Windows device manager or  did you checked with nVidia website?
