The .mp4 videos on my SSD play back normally in the Media Player, but when I Import them into my project and try to view them in the Source monitor all I get is sound. How do I get Visual back?

I just opened Pr, then remembered about this problem, but before I could switch to the forum I noticed that there was no longer a problem.

I ran an update recently, but not because of this; which is to say: was the upgrade before or after I posted the question? Guessing it was after, cause I can't think of any other explanation.

Thanks for all the suggestions

The problem developed again!

I think some is happening with my system's abiltiy to handle Pr.  I an ofter faced with a freeze, where the cursor will not move and the monitors go dark.  After about 30+ seconds the cursor become active again and the monrors come back, but in the most recent case when the freeze thawed and the cursor moves but the keyboard remained frozen.

fyi My system was tunedup last week, and everything checked out. This only seems to happen when I'm in Pr.

I post this "for the record", unless someone has a a clue.

I will contact my IT service to see if they have any suggestions, and contiue monitoring events when Pr ia open.

fyi I run my Lenovo Thinkpad with 2 ext monitors. I wonder if the freezes or resource related?

Try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean installation of the latest Studio Driver (NOT the Game Driver).

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

Can you see the video in the Project panel? Does it play with the video in the Project panel?

You can use the free MediaInfo program to get info on your clips. Get the program from the link below and using the 'Tree' view post a screenshot of your clip info: https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download
