Question

No way to remove proxies from project

There appears to be no reliable way to remove proxy references from a project in Premiere Pro (2017.0.2/11.0.2 (47) macOS 10.11.6)

I followed the steps outlined in https://forums.adobe.com/message/8843298#8843298 but this does not work. I still get the Link Media dialog on subsequent opens.

I tried Offline All/Save Project. Upon next open it still asks for the proxy location.

I tried manually selecting all proxy files and using Offline/Save project with the same results.

Any OTHER suggestions? This seems to be a pretty glaring hole in the workflow.

YEP... Done with some projects and I am glad I googled this before deleting the proxies... No what???? I have hundreds of GB I dont need for now. Maybe later I can re Proxy them... ADOBE, Please provide a way to handle proxy files manually deleted like

---> "Proxy(s) Are Missing / Deleted - Keep reference But Offline?" YES would allow for them to be recreated later BUT NO MORE missing dialogs. NO would then ask if you want them to be relinked or recreated?

Thanks!

Facing the same issue. In the case I accidentally link my full resolution media as proxies, I cannot find a way to unlink those, start from scratch and attach the proper proxies. When I try to attach the proxies through the attach proxy dialog, Premiere hangs on the "Locating Media" loading bar and doesn't move.  I would like to see the "Proxy" metadata column in the Project panel to revert to blank and not say "Attached" forever.
