Not Importing VOB DVD files correctly and truncates right-side

I am importing a VOB file into either Adobe Premiere Pro or the Encoder from a DVD video that is in wide-screen format and the right edge of the video is ignored. The scaling and other options are not the issue, its the way the video is being ingested.

 

The attachments show the full video frame and what it looks like in Premiere Pro (or the Encoder). The right side is completely chopped off. This is scaled to fit in the video window, hence the black stripe on the right side.

you might do better trying to rip the dvd using mpegstreamclip or handbrake.  mpegstreamclip will "demux" the dvd and output the m2v and audio files used to author the dvd...  Not sure about handbrake.  And widescreen dvd's can either be anamorphic or letterboxed.  that might be part of the problem.
